On Friday 17th February 2017, WZIS sent a girls basketball team to compete in the annual QISN High School Basketball competition. This year the competition was hosted by Yew Chung International School (YCIS). This was an excellent venue and the students throughly enjoyed having the opportunity to play basketball against some of the other prestigious international schools in China.
Some of the players that entered this years QISN Basketball competition, this was the first competition that they have competed in basketball. Students displayed a high level of sportsmanship towards other teams and drastically improved their performance throughout the duration of the tournament. The coaches were proud of the students that represented WZIS and will be excited to take the same team again next year.
This season has been a developmental year for our basketball program at WZIS, next season we will have two squads ready to compete in both next years YEASA and QISN basketball events. We currently have two experienced basketball coaches which will ensure both squads will be prepared for next years competitions. Both students and staff are excited to celebrate the future successes of our basketball teams.
The volleyball competition between the houses ended with the Wolves taking the first place, followed by the Hawks, and the Moose holding up the rear for both the upper school and the primary school.

We have been delighted to see many of our student’s progress to prestigious universities around the world. This year our 2016 graduates plan to go to universities in UK, USA & South Korea.
